Joe Able is no freak. He’s a damn good athlete that uses his mind to make up for his physical shortcomings. Joe is competitive, but he parties a little too much. Able loves the ladies. He lives to satisfy them. He’s a streetwise, charismatic high school teacher that grew up and still works in New York. One evening he got drunk, as many teachers do on the brink of their summer vacation. He gets roped into playing a video game in a neighborhood bar just as the establishment is about to close. He loses the game and wakes up in a weird hotel room. The sounds, smells and sights tell him he’s not home anymore. He must quickly adjust to his new world. In this new/old time, he’s the shortstop for the nineteenth century Philadelphia Quakers. Joe gets along pretty well and is comfortable in his new skin. He adapts easily to his new star persona. It’s not difficult since he’s played college and pro-ball. But then he meets her and Joe’s journey really begins.
